Crafty Shit

My December Daily plans failed, twice! So I started over. Re-inventing. All about keeping it simple. Capturing what's important :)

Slide

Oh hi December 5th. Life is good in this place and in this moment. Toxteth, Liverpool. The little flat with the giant cemetery for a backyard. I'm learning a little more everyday about how to live this mermaid life. And I love it, with all my soul <3

Things I Learned In November 2015

So, it's the last day of November (seriously?!), and I'm at Jessibat Towers in Leeds. And it's time for my November round-up. It's been quite the adventure :)

Notes, Ramblings and December Daily Plans

"Nothing ever begins. There is no first moment; no single word or place from which this or any story springs. The threads can always be traced back to some earlier tale, and the tales that preceded that; though as the narrator's voice recedes the connections will seem to grow more tenuous, for each age will want the tale told as if it were of its own making."

Clive Barker, Weaveworld.

Things I Learned In October 2015

Eeek! It's Halloween! Around here that means baking, baking and more baking. I spent most of October struggling with my sucky health issues, but I am currently infection free! Unfortunately my depression is still lurking hard. Hoping to find a way to better places soon.

Want to know what I learned in October?!

Shocktober 2015, The Penultimate Round-Up!

Time to blog about spooky movies! My goal with this project was to try to watch as many new-to-me movies as possible. Looking for secret treasures in the dusty dungeons as it were. I used Netflix almost exclusively for my movie nights, maybe three exceptions? Here comes my report so far ;)

Week 43 Cross Stitch Update!

I'm experiencing a world of problems with photography at the moment, so please forgive my less than awesome photos! Popping in to share a cross stitch update :)

Friday 16 October 2015

Ok Trich, you win this round.

But I am not letting you take my afternoon too.

Today started like most mornings this week. With me in full on panic mode because I really fucking hate the dark mornings! And I'm sick, and super miserable.

Plus point, I did not cry about breakfast! I made my own toast like a grown-up and the whole morning routine was basically melt-down free. Lately I have been trying to make myself eat porridge. I love porridge, but I have serious issues with preparing it. I can't actually do it without tears these days.

Spread 'Em Wide Sunday Week 41

Week 41 was a rough one for me! I still have residual flu yuckiness and general exhaustion that I can't quite shake, but my general recovery is going well overall. Checking in today to share my *almost* complete week's spread in my Erin Condren Horizontal.

Things I learned in September 2015

Oh hi! This is me, and here are some of the things I learned this September! I'm using the note page at the end of each month's section in my Erin Condren Life Planner to list that month's random lessons :) Always something to learn!

October Listers Gotta List In My Erin Condren Notebook

Sharing the first 7 days of my October #listersgottalist challenge! This will be my 4th time around with this challenge :) I made mini-books in various styles for my previous listers challenges, but this time I'm switching it up a bit!

Saturday 3 October 2015

Trich or Treat! It's BFRB Awareness Week!

BFRB Awareness Week is here again! Body Focused Repetitive Behaviour (BFRB) Awareness week runs from the 1st through to the 7th of October each year. This week is also Invisible Illness Awareness Week. As a person living with both trichotillomania and dermatillomania (or possibly a hybrid mash-up of both disorders), the vast majority of my health struggles are invisible. Today I want to talk about living with BFRB and hopefully raise awareness for this seriously underrepresented family of illnesses.

Shocktober and Drawlloween, October Creative Challenges

Is it just me or did September fly this year?! Seriously, I cannot believe it is October first tomorrow! Of course, October is a very special month in all of our Halloween-loving hearts. I will be taking on three creative challenges this month, and I'm hoping I can convince a few more people to join me, because creative challenges are so much fun!, and, as the nights get darker and the weather gets colder, it's nice to snuggle up with your sketchbook or planner and make some crafty time for yourself. S'mores and coffee or cocoa are definitely encouraged!

Mini Book Monday, Listers Gotta List August!

One of my major 2015 goals is to share more of my finished projects! I'm pretty good at sharing my planner challenges on instagram each day, but at the end of each month I just jump straight into my next set of challenges and struggle to find time to actually photograph my finished project for the previous month!

Dublin Birthday Haul!

Yesterday was my 31st birthday! Dan took me to Dublin for a fantastic day of shopping, burgers, ice cream and general planner nerdery :)

September 2015 Blackpool Light Switch On

September 4th 2015. I happened to be in Blackpool for the illumination switch-on! I found out just before flying over that the button would be pushed by Tim Burton this year!!! But there were no tickets available :( Still, knowing I would be in the same city as one of my heroes made me even more excited about the trip! *Spoiler Alert*... Really terrible Tim Burton photos to follow...

Spread 'Em Wide Sunday, Sealife Edition

Totally inspired by last weekend's visit to The Blackpool Sealife Centre, I bring you #teacupfaerydrawaday Sealife Week :)

The Comeback Post

Eeek! I'm back!

I had every intention of making 2015 the year I take blogging SERIOUSLY, I really did. Then I broke my laptop :( And everything got very messy for a while. But I'm back, and I have every. Single. Intention. I actually think I might pull this off ;)

Project Life Week Four

Project Life week four. I cross stitched. I had a traumatic eye exam! Dan's Legends of Cthulhu action figures arrived! We ate nachos! We went to Dublin!

Project Life Week Three

I managed to catch up with photographing my Project Life today :) Week three involved a snow day, a cross stitch finish, a new cross stitch start, reading, hot chocolate, and a trip to Galway.

Happy Love Day!

I have been a bit too ill to blog lately, but I had to share some Valentine's sweetness! I LOVE Love Day! I see it as a day to celebrate love in all its forms. Human+human love is all well and good, but that isn't part of everyone's life. So take this as a day to celebrate all the love you do have. Human+cat love, cake love, nail varnish love, nutella ice-cream love, reading love... ALL THE LOVE!!!

Wednesday 21 January 2015

Kelp!

Dan and I went to Galway on Saturday! We had so much fun!!! The highlight of the day for me involved playing on the beach with my new fantastic kelp-arms :) Dan does not like being chased around with kelp, but he was kind enough to take photos for me :)

Tuesday 20 January 2015

Summer Memories, With Cross Stitch Bees :)

Another 12x12 layout today! Again using mostly the Studio Calico Underground kit plus add-ons. This one is all about how much I love being outdoors in summertime.

Kensington Gardens

Hello Monday! I'm back from a particularly lovely weekend. I spent Friday and Saturday nights happily scrapbooking, and Sunday involved a trip to the seaside :) I'm sure I'll share more of my seaside adventures soon. For now, here is my Friday project...

Saturday 17 January 2015

My First Proper 12x12 Layouts :)

I have been making layouts! And I love it! It took me a while to get comfortable with the larger canvas, but I'm gaining confidence (and having more fun!) with every page I make.

Hello 2015!

Hi there! It's been a while :) I have never been a particularly dedicated blogger in previous incarnations, but I have this new(ish) hobby, that has me crazy happy excited. So I'm going to give this whole sharing business another go.
